A trip to the underworld is what one least expects on a daily basis. It is a terrible job for a messenger to have to do everyday. Every time I go I feel the burning gaze of the gatekeeper Lycan. He truly does not approve of me doing business in the underworld, and I don't either with him around. Still I am the only one braze enough to go with him around. Others like me are just too afraid of the underworld alone, and Lycan makes everything harder to bear.
Reaching the gate there he sat, his fiery figure poised. He always knew when I was coming. I winced as I walked forward, his eyes never leaving me. My heart beat faster and faster, and he looked bored at my approach. I stuttered out to him,"Ummm, I have a message to deliver, that is, if you don't mind of coarse." I said while sweat dripped down me.
He growled an ungracious reply. "Why do you all have quarrels with the dead. Can't you let them be, I have more important matters to attend to than allow passage into the underworld on a weekly basis. I recommend you leave before you join the dead." He snarled out.
I jumped back at the fearsome response I got. He seemed to become more terrifying every time I saw him. This was the response I got most of the time, although, I don't know what he does that is so important. I nodded before turning and heading back as fast as I could without looking to scared. When I was out of view I left for the last time. Shaking my head, I couldn't get his eyes out of my vision.
