i wasn't sure what i was looking at exactly. seb had brought me a flyer, talking about the so called "cave to the underworld." home to the beast hell-hound type creature. i snorted thinking it was just a bogus tourist attraction that was meant to scare little kids and make them stay home. but apparently it says that when people go in, they don't come back out. i was curious so i told seb i wanted to go and check out this cave. he thought it was a bad idea at first but finally warmed up to the idea and we left for Greece.

Sebastiann and i were taking a tour in Greece, visiting all the places and popular tourist attractions, when i spotted a cave a dark cave. tugging my brother's arm, i led him towards it. but he stopped me when we got to the entrance. seb sighed. "wait luka, hold up. i'm not going to go in there." he started. but before i could whine, he started talking once again. "i know i know, you want to go in there but-" he began before i gave him a puppy-dog look with massive pleading eyes. "oh seb i'll be careful. please let me go!" i said wrapping my arms around him and rubbing my cheek against his chest. Seb smiled, seeming to like my odd display of affection. for my older brother. he hugged me back and refrained from displaying the rest of the affection i had shown him. "fine. i guess, but if you get lost, stay put and we'll find you" he said as the guide returned. i nodded and hugged my brother once more. "thank you" i said as i ran of into the cave. so excited to see what roamed inside.

the sounds of the water droplets colliding with the cave floor were amazing. they echoed and made different sounds, like a cavern orchestra. i was amazed at how peaceful this whole place looked. even though where ever i placed my foot, a cracking sound would emit and i'd hop to a different area, relieved that there was no cracking sound. i continued walking ,drawn in at the rubies that were lined along the area, that seemed to be carved out by what looked like water. i ran my hand along it, silenced at how smooth it felt, even though it had such a rough and edgy look to it. i heard something behind me and i turned around to see nothing. i sighed and figured it was seb following me just to check on me. i continued to walk down the path watching for any falling stalactites. "there dangerous, and have killed many people in the past. even one of my best friends" i recalled the guide telling me and my brother as we walked towards the caves. i thought about that now, as i carefully listened to any cracking sounds as i walked through the cave. i thought i heard my brother calling for me, so i ran towards the sound. i screamed, as i felt the floor make a sickening crack under me and it caved in. and the next thing i knew i was falling. and fast.

i glanced around the cavern, seeing no one. I had had a bad morning. The dead wouldn't stop complaining and the messengers would always come around and ask for me to grant them access to the underworld. Sighing I padded along the cave floor until I stopped, tail swishing, as I smelled someone coming. The scent was new, which meant a person I had never seen before. I grew curious. Following the scent until I got towards the entrance to one of the many caves here in Greece. This cave was a popular tourist attraction. And a favorite place of mine to send people to the underworld. I listened to the sounds, ears flicking and turning, as I tried to find the sound. I growled as I heard footsteps getting closer, closer to where I was. I ducked behind a lone rock, biting my tongue to keep from growling. 'Of all the days to put your armour on lycan, today wasn't the best choice.' I thought as I tried to hide my fire from the view of the trespasser. I looked around looking for a break off to go into to head back to the underworld. Sighing, I found one and ran for it, kicking a rock out of the way with my tail and diving into the hole. It was a long drop, not that I cared. I was used to this stuff. I landed softly removing my cloak and sitting by the gate.
I was sure that the trespasser hadn't seen me. Picking up a paw, I placed it down in the floor, hearing a sickening crack as the sounds echoed throughout all of the underworld. Some of the dead moaned, knowing what I had done. And I didn't mind. Bringing the trespasser down here isn't all that bad. Not only won't he make the fall, but he won't get out of here. Chuckling softly, I awaited the arrival of my new visitor.

I woke up, in pain. The scattered pieces of the cave floor were all around me. My sides and leg burned, like someone was hitting me with a torch that wouldn't go out. I stood up slowly, my legs shaky, but my right one foreign. I felt that burning pain come back and I looked down at my leg and noticed a large gash running from my hip down to halfway past my knee. I placed a hand on my leg side and felt a warm and sticky liquid coating my hand. I pulled it away and noticed it was blood. My head hurt now, and I felt that same warm sensation down my face. I realized I was bleeding. Fear and panic running through me, I yelled for my brother. Only to be answered by my own echo. He had told me to stay put, but I just couldn't. I found my bearings and limped slowly down into this unknown area. As I continued, it seemed to be getting lighter and brighter. I moved faster being careful not to over exert myself as I went. I saw light ahead. I thought it was a way out and I would be able to find my brother, but I just came to another cave room. I looked around, dumbfounded and scared. 'This wasn't the way out' I thought as I looked down, fighting back tears. 'Maybe there isn't a way out and I wouldn't be able to get out of here.' I thought as I wiped some tears away with a bloody hand.
Shaking my head and sighing, I remembered that there is always a way out. No matter what. You just have to look for it. I looked for another opening, anything that would lead me out of here. But I found nothing. Fear was starting to settle in again. And that pang of homesickness was coming back for round two. I realized that there was no way out of here. I was dead lost, and no one was here to save me. I was going to sit down and cry when I heard a chuckle. ''Hello?'' I called out, looking around frantically. ''Who are you?'' A voice replied, making me stiffen and hold my breath. At first it sounded like seb's but now it didn't. It was cold, scratchy, and hoarse, and yet it held more of a masculine tone. The voice sounded like the owner hadn't talked in years. My heartbeat started to race and I was getting scared. Sweat was starting to drip off me, and my body shook with both fright and exhaustion. ''I-I'm L-Luka. I-I'm l-lost. W-who a-are y-you?'' I answered back to the voice. I heard another chuckle and I saw a flaming paw come out from the shadows. I jumped back, frightened, as the owner revealed himself. The creature had four flaming paws. It was wearing armour and it was flaming too. It's eyes looked dead and soulless holding nothing but pure hate for the world.
I shivered at how scary this thing looked. It's tail was amazing though, the jewel and the split ends were fascinating. What worried me was the look it gave me. Like I wasn't going to get out of here. Alive anyways. I backed up slowly as the creature sat. Curling it's tail around its paws and looking up at me with those calculating eyes. ''I, young human, am Lycan. Guardian of the underworld.'' He spoke in a formal tone, although it was filled with anger and hostility. I nodded, tripping and falling back onto my butt. ''U-underworld?'' I stuttered out, trying to look away from Lycan, but couldn't. Lycan chuckled. ''Yes, human. Underworld. You know Hell? the place of Hades? Your here.'' He said, keeping his tone cold. I felt tears coming up again. ''If I'm here, will I ever get home?'' I asked, feeling just a little embarrassed when I felt the warm, stinging tears run down my cheeks.

this boy was starting to amuse me. his want to leave and return to the "present world" was very... amusing. i would have loved to let him go. only, now that he knew i was here, i couldn't risk myself being found out. not that people would care. for centuries they have been making places around these caves, hoping that one would lead to the underworld. they would even place coins on the dead so they could pay for passage to the underworld. i don't need payment, only, the fact that if they wish to remain dead, that they may never ever return again. they can never leave this place. if they tried i would have to get rid of them. and it's not a pleasant sight for the others if they see someone being lit up and forever disappearing. i studied his face when he asked me "if he was here, will he ever get home?" i knew what to say of course, only that he looked to young and so dependent on his brother, that it was kind of... hard. it wasn't the puppy face that was getting to me, it was the look in his eyes when he asked me that. i sighed and flicked my tail, running a paw over my face in annoyance and slight impatience. "if you were here, there is a way to leave. not that i would tell you, young one." i kept eye contact when he asked me why, stepping back a little.
i grinned then, kind of liking his fear in a morbid kind of way. "because young one, you know about me. and with that, i cannot let you leave." i said, standing up and walking towards him. i stopped when he turned and ran off, obviously scared, and crying out for his brother. i ran after him, certain that he'd truly get lost and run into a pit. and those are endless. those never ending pits are sure to raise hell in here. and yes, i did just say that. sighing i ran in front of him, me, being on four legs, i was faster than this two-legged brat. i mean kid. i turned around standing in front of him and making eye contact with him. i held back a chuckle when i saw his eyes hold more fear that before, obviously reflecting my snarling expression. i hadn't meant to do that, only it was an easy way to get him to stop. a common and slightly absent-minded habit. he was only a few feet from the pit. and i was in between him and the pit. i stopped snarling and sat down giving this kid a calm vibe for once in my life. as much as i hated it, he was just a kid, more or less. i looked at him and blinked a few times, waiting for him to stop looking at me like i was going to eat him alive. "young one, listen. you may pass. but you must never tell anyone about me. cover it up and do it well. or i'll find you." i snapped, feeling that strip of niceness leave.
i saw him nod once and i walked with him back, ignoring the fact that he was trembling and reeked of fear. i sat down by the gate. turning i looked back at him and flicked my ears, looking around, trying to find an opening in the cave. i saw one and pointed my tail to it, making sure that he was looking in the right direction. "that, young one, is where you must go. pass through and never look back. never tell anyone that i was here. and........be careful. cave floors here aren't as stable as they seem." i spoke as he made his way towards the opening. limping at best. what puzzled me was how he was able to run earlier, but i guess it must have been adrenaline. turning away i walked off into the darkness. making note that i'd need to take a trip up to the present world soon.

i ran off, into the opening like he has said. i was crying by now, just wanting to get out of here. it was a pretty scary place. and i have my different opinions of what this place is now that i have been there. i saw light and limped out, seeing Sebastiann a ways down from the cave, talking to the guide and looking worried. i yelled for him, not caring that i was limping, crying, bleeding, and holding my side. i notice seb turn to my voice and run to me. the guide following suite. once he got to me he stopped short, those amber eyes coming back. i braced myself for a hollering, i was surprised when he just hugged me. i grunted, the pain coming back and fell limp in his grip. i sighed and closed my eyes only to open them and look at the cave. i narrowed my eyes on something standing in the shadows with what looking like something covering it. i realized by the silver of it's paws it was what i had feared. i stood up and grabbed my brothers arm, leading him away from the caves. "ok, i'm ready. lets go home." i said quickly moving quicker away from the caves. i thought i heard seb growl but i didn't care i just wanted to get away from the caves. glancing behind me i saw sed watching me like i was crazy, but i wasn't looking at him, i was looking at the caves and there was no one by the caves where i saw that thing from earlier.
sighing i slowed my pace down until seb caught up to me, looking down at me with a raised eyebrow. i smiled and walked with him, finally letting go of his arm. when we got to the car he checked me over before saying that i was fine until we got home. then i was going to the hospital. i felt fine, but i just kept looking over seb's shoulder and around, looking for that thing. seeing nothing i sat in the passenger's seat. i had closed the door and closed my eyes. i jumped awake when seb rapped on my window, yelling at me to open the door. i looked around and noticed that we weren't back over at the caves. we were back at the airport. i had slept all the way. i looked down and saw that i had some of his clothes on and bandages on me. i realized that i had slept through both the ride to the airport, but also the doctors. i got out and seb helped me to the plane. sitting down in my seat seb sat next to me, watching me as i looked out my window and waved to the guide. i rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. remembering that i couldn't tell anyone about that thing or what i went through. "what happened back there." seb asked me. i opened one eye and looked at him. "fell in the cave. passed out." i said simply closing my eyes and falling asleep. not really hearing seb's disbelieving "riiiight".
